I know I know

It has been a VERY long time sense (I don’t like the word sense, I never know how to spell it, sense or sence…thank goodness for spell check to let me know it’s an S not a C) my last blog, this is going to be random, long and I would be very surprised if ANYONE makes it though it…if you do…I'm sorry, you must have as much if not MORE (if that is possible) time on your hands as I do.  If any of you know me (I'm sure anyone that has made it this far does) you know I get distracted and get on tangents VERY easy (I just want you all to know…that I spelled tangents CORRECTLY the first time I tried!!!) Because (I know I know…you’re not supposed to start a sentence with because…but it’s my blog so I can do what I want HA!) of this, this blog will be VERY random. There are a lot of things going through my head, but yet nothing at all. So that is what this blog will be about, a lot of nothingness.

I hate the word supposed to, well its kinda two words, but I hate it. I can NEVER figure out how to spell it, which was totally okay until they came out with the whole keyboard phones, now I don’t have help on my cell phone when I am sending texts, so EVERYONE I text now knows that I am a bad speller. And why don’t they have spell check on messenger??? BAH!!!! Everything should have spell check!!!

So, hands down (I'm not totally sure what that means or why people say it, but I like it) I have the BESTEST, FUNNIEST, NICEST, LOVINGEST …you add in whatever other good est thing you can think of … and that explains my little brother.  He has this great, I don’t want to say relationship because that sounds wired, but something with his teacher. Every paper he has to write for school he makes two pages longer then the teacher asks because the first page is ALWAYS a page of jokes…and the last page is the punch lines. For example on the first page it would say…

1.       1.   Where does the president keep his armies?

2.       2.  What’s red and green and goes through walls?

3.       3.  What do you get if you cross the Atlantic with the Titanic?

And so on…then on the last page it would say…

1.       1.  In his sleevies

2.       2.  A frog if you throw it hard enough

  3.    3.  About half way

I think if I did that my teacher would fail me, I think it is so funny that one, she lets him do that and two, he really does it. I love that boy and am going to miss him like CRAZY when he goes on his mission!!!

So, a few weeks ago I thought I was prego.  I got really scared then excited, and then I thought about everything I wanted to do before I had kids and got kinda disappointed because I wasn’t going to be able to do them. I want to go back east and visit, (but I kinda think that would be fun to do with a baby so I wasn’t too bummed about that). But the number one thing I wanted to do before I had kids was go back to Elliot’s mission. I know how bad my parents want to go back to theirs, but they couldn’t because they had kids and bills and things like that. It took my mom years and years to get back to hers and it was only because she was in the right place at the right time, and my dad and never gone back. So, to say the least I was getting a little down about the whole thing, and then feeling bad that I felt this way. Well….GOOD NEWS!!!! I'm NOT prego!!! So guess what Elliot and I are doing!?!??! We are going to Brazil!!!!! I am so excited!!! I am working for an alarm company so we are SUPER busy during the summer so I can’t take anytime off till the “end” of the “summer” which is the first week in September.  So we are planning on going October 10th through the 18th or 19th. I can’t tell you how excited I am, I check the tickets EVERYDAY because we haven’t bought them yet The reason being were going to wait till we got paid, but…we got a computer and Elliot a DS lite (Game Boy) (I will be getting one in a few months) and an iPod (because his is like a 2 gig and he needs more than that for the plane ride), so I think we are getting them with our next paycheck. The tickets are only $1,450 TOTAL for both of us ROUNDTRIP!!!!  We are going to stay in pretty nice hotel because we want to be safe and stay away from the ghettos.  The part I'm most excited about…well it’s tied with the beach…is one American dollar is 2.17 brazilin dollar. Shopping is going to be SOOOOOOOO much fun!!! I plan on taking only a few clothes down and buying the rest!! I heard they have pretty nice jeans for CHEAP!!!!!

Well…I guess I will let you get back to your lives…if you even got this far :D. You now know every thing new about my life…my new computer, Elliot’s new DS and iPod (which we are actually getting tonight) and the most exciting our trip to BRAZIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and side note…did you know if you turn in your old (no matter how old it is) iPod in at the iPod store at Gateway they will give you a new one for 10% off?!?!?! How cool is that?!

(Sorry there are no pictures…maybe I will post some next time)

8 going on 25

I am sitting here bored out of my mind at work. I have read everyone’s blog up to date, and now I am going through reading everyone’s posts on face book. There are a LOT of the “25 random things about me”. This made me think…I have done one before, but I thought why not….I’ll do another one. So…here goes nothing…

1.      I love my job!!! Like really love it!! A few weeks ago I was moved from the back (the customer care section) to work at the front desk. I am doing the same job, with a few additions, just in a different location. At first I was totally bummed, I LOVED working back there, when calls weren’t coming in we could chit chat, but up at the front desk I have no one to talk to. Well, I have learned to love it!! One because I it is quieter up here, I am the only one on the phone (and really the only one up here). Two, I get to listen to my music, I keep it low but I still get to. Three because I have gotten to know Amanda a lot better because she comes up here and talks to me. And four, I have gotten to know the “office” people, like Justin, he is FUNNY!!!!!

2.       I love Zesta crackers. Not a big fan of saltines unless they are Zesta. I think any other kind of saltine crackers taste stale.  I break them in half or thirds (depending on how daring I am feeling) and then suck on them until they are mush then swallow. I think I got the love for Zesta from my cousins Nicole and Marc (Matt may like them too…but I’m not sure). I could eat them all day long, but I try not to because one they can’t be that good for me two sitting and eating all day is not healthy and three they sometimes give me gas. J

3.       I Love Fiji water. I don’t know what it is; it may just be that it is super expensive so I think it is better, or it may be the bottle. I got Fiji water (I'm not sure how long ago) but I still have the bottle and drink out of it every day. At work we have a Mount Olympus water cooler and I fill my Fiji water bottle up every day!

4.       I love the Christmas hard candies. You know the ones I am talking about, the ones that look like ribbons and things like that. I could also eat these all day every day, but I don’t…because…do that would make me SUPER fat. (And I don’t want that). But I think the biggest reason is because they cut up my tongue. My amazing sister (Haley) gave me TWO, that’s right TWO bags of this candy a few months ago. So, to stop myself from weighing 500 lbs, I brought them to work and I share them with Jarom and Kristen. I would share them with Mary too…but she doesn’t eat sugar. (I wish I had that kind of will power WOW).

5.       If I get bored and I have a water bottle nearby I will drink and drink without noticing how much I have drank until I am either sick or about to wet my pants. I also do this when I am watching TV or playing games, so pretty much doing anything. I have to be very careful when I have water around. :D

6.       I LOVE fax machines. I think they are so cool!!!! I kinda want to own one of my own. The reason I don’t is because I don’t have a land line, but more importantly because I don’t know many people other than business that have them. If you have no one to fax, why have a fax machine you know what I mean?? Oh, and the other reason I don’t is because it would be a waste of money and Elliot really is not in to wasting money.

7.       Some people know this, some people don’t, and I don’t usually admit to it. But I kinda stocked Elliot until he decided that he really did like me again, and that I was the one he wanted to marry. (Since I am writing a lot about everything I will explain the story of our courtship.)  When Elliot and I were in high school we dated for about 6-7 months then we broke up because we were in high school and wanted to date other people (you could say). Then about a year later after we were graduated I found out he worked at Taco Time. Toni and I decided to go visit him, but also play dumb. I didn’t want him knowing that I knew he worked there. So we went and when I saw him I played the dumb girl and used the line “oh…I didn’t know you worked here”. Well we talked for a while and then he told us if we wanted to we could come back around midnight because that was when he got off. We, of course, ended up back at Taco Time at midnight, and ended up hanging out with him ALL night. A few days later he asked if we wanted a job there because they really needed people. Toni and I started working at Taco Time, and Elliot grew to hate us. We would always talk to each other on the head sets. One night we were talking to each other over the head sets and it really made Elliot mad, right as we closed he took them from us. We went on with our closing responsibilities but we would stop every once in a while I sign to each other (ASL). That REALLY upset him, so he turned to us in a fit of anger and said “if you girls don’t stop signing to each other and start working, I will cut your hands off.” We laughed HARD…poor guy!!! Anyway…Toni and I quit Taco Time and Elliot went on his mission. He wrote me 2 and I replied both times, but we didn’t talk after that. Right before he got home from his mission my friend Sarah was working with his mom at the state hospital and she told Sarah that she should go to Elliot’s homecoming. Sarah invited me to go with her and her husband to the home coming. Unannounced to me, Elliot had received an email a few weeks before informing him that I wanted to date him. (SIDE NOTE: I told my cousin that I was excited for him to come home because then maybe we could be friends again. She asked me what I would do if we dated, to which I replied, that would be cool. She took it as “I want to date Elliot!” she told his brother who told him.) So, when he saw me at his home coming it freaked him out, so needless to say we didn’t talk much. A few months later I heard he worked at TGI Fridays, so what did I do?? I started going there. I would go about every other month, and whenever he would be my server I would leave him a HUGE tip.  After about 8 months or so he realized that maybe I would make a good friend. We exchanged numbers and long story short 3 (or so) weeks after that we were engaged.

8.       I don’t like when there is a light bulb burned out in a fixture even if there are other lights in it. For example, in a bath room above the sink if there are 4 lights and one burns out, I HAVE to replace it. AND if I don’t have the same light bulb I have to go out and get a matching bulb. I think this stems from my slight OCD. Because I feel this way I stood on my desk a few days ago to replace a light bulb J

My mind has gone totally blank, I cannot think of anything else. So I decided I would just add things as I thought of them…so 8 down 17 to go!!!!

Life....or something like it!

I know it has been a very long time sense I have last posted. I'm sorry I’m a total slacker. My computer at home is kinda stupid…so I don’t usually get on it. So the only time I ever post is when I'm at work. And now that I have a job that keeps me busy (which I am LOVING!!!!) I don’t get a chance to post very often. But I thought I would update you on our lives…maybe I will even do a picture survey just to get some pictures in some time here soon.

Not too much happens around here. We LOVE babysitting Anna, my cousins daughter. We go to Ikea a LOT…like almost every weekend. Elliot is BIG in getting a years’ worth of food storage, so we got shelves, then decided we needed more, so we went back the next week and got more! We are both staying very busy with work, and Elliot is working on grants so we can go back to school. I am trying to learn how to cut Elliot’s hair…and I'm getting better at it. That’s about our lives!!

If you want to see LOTS of pictures you can check out my facebook…that’s where I put ALL my pictures :D

Update!

I know it has been for EVER sense I have written anything real. My last entry was about Vegas and that was in the first week of November, and now it is close to the end of December. I’m sorry!!! And it’s not like nothing has happened. I lost my job because of the amazing economy at the end of October. I was jobless for almost two months and just started a new job (that I LOVE) on December 8th. So I have only been here two weeks but I love it…and I feel like I am catching on fast which is nice.

Thanksgiving was fun. We went to the John’s (my cousins) for lunch then we went to the Foster’s (Elliot’s mom and step dad’s) for a second lunch early dinner. After we ate we played a HUGE game of Phase 10. There were 10 people playing…you could only go once or twice before someone won. It was CRAZY!!!

Elliot and I have ALL our Christmas shopping done!!! But that’s about all that is happened. I’m excited for Christmas; it is going to be different because this is my first year being married. For Christmas I got Elliot’s racquetball racquet restrung. Well…he was looking for his racquet last night and wouldn’t take no, or let’s do something else for an answer. So, he found out his Christmas present. He felt really bad so he gave me one of mine…it was a racquetball racquet!!!! I'm so excited…we can go play together now!!! Anyway…Saturday we are going over to Callie and Dave’s to exchange presents because they are going to Cali on Monday for Christmas. Then we are doing Christmas Eve at my parents because Grandma V and (Grandpa) Jay will be there. Then Christmas morning we are going to get up and do our own thing. Then on our way over to my parents we are going to stop at Dahl’s (Elliot’s dad) to exchange presents. Then around noon or so we are going to Fosters. Then that night we are going to Grandma Graves. Then we both work Friday and Saturday we are going to Gunnison. I’m so excited. Busy but fun!!!!

That is about our life for now. I will try to do better at updated yall.

Vegas Trip.....ITS LONG!!!!

Shortly before Elliot and I got married we went to a timeshare presentation (of course we said no) but for going we got a free 3 day 2 night trip to Las Vegas. They would fly us down pay for our hotel and give us $40 to Planet Hollywood. All we would have to pay was $95 for taxes. This sounded good until a lady called me and told me we would fly in late the first night and fly out early the last day so we would only have one full day there and we wouldn’t stay on the strip. Then she told me we could up grade our tip which would include better flight times, we would stay on the strip, get two tickets for a show, a bunch of 2 for 1’s for shows and buffets and $100 gambling money. It would be only $275 extra. I told her to forget about it and requested our $95 back, but she didn’t want to lose us so she told me if we could get ourselves down there she would give us all the extra stuff and give us $50 back. We figured we would just drive down because that would be just as cheap as anything. But as we got closer we thought about it and we didn’t want to put the miles on my car. We looked in to renting a car but we are both under 25 so that would cost us an arm AND a leg…each. We thought about flying but that would be $200 plus taxes (at the cheapest) and gas isn’t that much. So we decided we would just drive. About 3 weeks before we were to go I was at work and decided to look at Jet Blue’s prices I knew they did the $50 flights which are good but it would be less to drive down. Well…Jet Blue had tickets for $29.99. I was so excited I was going to go home after work and tell Elliot all about it. I was telling my co-workers about it and we pulled it up again…and the prices went up to $50 each. I was SOOO bummed!!! About ten minutes later I had another dull at work so I looked again and they were back down to $29.99, so I called Elliot (knowing he wouldn’t be able to answer because he was at work) and he answered…I told him what I found and he told me to get them. We got TWO ROUND TRIP tickets for $158 TOTAL!!!! I was ecstatic!!!!!!!!

We got up at 5:45 to shower and get ready then headed over to my parents. We didn’t want to pay for parking so my dad took us to the airport. We left my parents house around 6:30 and it was snowing. We went about 35 mph almost the whole way to the airport. We finally got there about 8:15. My dad dropped us off at the curb, we went and got our boarding passes and went through secretly. There were no lines…it was awesome! We got to our gate the plenty of time.

We all boarded the airplane and the pilot welcomed us and told we would be taking off soon. About ten minutes later he got over the intercom and said they needed to de-ice the wings which will take about ten minutes then we will be off to Vegas. Well those ten minuets turned into fifteen or twenty. About 45 minutes after we were supposed to take off we finally did. The wait didn’t bother me because on Jet Blue there is a TV for each person. They have direct TV on them and they also have a channel that show where the plane is on a map, haw fast the plane is going and the altitude. It was so cool!! I don’t remember the highest altitude we hit but the plane went over 60mph!!! WOW!! THAT’S FAST!!!!

We ended up getting to Vegas 30 minutes late, which wasn’t a big deal to us because we were in no real rush. We took a shuttle to out hotel (The Sahara) to see what time we could check in. they checked us in but told us our room wouldn’t be ready for a few hours. It was only 10:00 so we were planning on that. They only luggage we brought were backpacks so we left the hotel with our ‘luggage’ and started walking down the strip. We stopped at a food court and got yummy wraps for brunch. Then kept walking. As we walked down the strip people would hand us things or stop us to offer us a “great deal”. They would ask us if we wanted to go to a show for free or wanted a few night stay in X hotel. We would say yes then they would ask us if were 24-28 or older we would say no to which they would reply then you can’t take part in this…but its okay stay young! We also had a few people give us coupons. But what we saw the most were people wearing orange shirts what said “Girls Girls Grils Straight to you in 20 min 1-888-XXX-XXXX” (I don’t remember the number) they would be snapping what looked like baseball cards. But they weren’t baseball players on them. They were almost totally naked girls. Well Elliot was handed a few and he handed them to me. I took them and threw them on the ground and said “those are naked girls…I don’t want to see naked girls”. Elliot chuckled and I got some funny looks.

We walked down to almost M&M world when some lady asked us if we were talked all day. We said yes and she handed us two all day buss passes and told us she didn’t need them anymore. By that time I was getting tired and sick of caring my backpack so I was very grateful. So we jumped on the next bus (which was AWESOME!! Its call the Deuce and it was a double decor) that came by and headed back to the Sahara.

We got there around 11:30 and asked if our room was ready yet. The (mean) old guy looked it up and said “NO” and sent us on our way. We went and sat by the pool for a bit to wait. We waited about five minutes when I decided I wanted to know how much longer it would be so I went back up the front desk to ask. The time we got a nice lady, she looked up our room and told us there were no room with king beds available yet but there were some queens. We said a queen would be just fine so she got us a room (which was on the 17th floor)!!!! We went up to our room dropped off our backpacks relaxed for a bit and went back out. We took the bus and walked around to see more of the strip. For dinner we went to Planet Hollywood. It took us forever to find because it wasn’t in the Planet Hollywood casino, so by the time we found it we were both kinda cranky. I got Chicken Alfredo and it was okay. Elliot got a hamburger and fires, he said the hamburger was good and his fries were DELICIOUS!!!!! After dinner we went to M&M world and Coke World. M&M world was AWESOME!!!!!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!! I could have spent hours there…but Elliot wasn’t as amused but it so we left and spent 10 minutes in Coke World which was cool but not as cool as M&M World. We walked about for a bit longer then we took the bus back to the hotel. It was early (about 7:30) but we were tired because we had gotten up at 5:45 and had walked around ALL day…so we went to bed!

Thursday morning we were lazy. We didn’t get up till 11. We went and had breakfast at Denny’s, which was a bad idea!! We got a table as soon as we walked in but it took over fifteen minutes just to get a server. Then it took forever for him to get our food out, it was awful! After breakfast we went to Casino Royal, because that’s where our $100 gambling money was to. We found out you had to get jackpot to cast out, and neither of us did…so we didn’t win any thing but it was lots of fun anyway! Then we went to a comedy magic show. It was super cute…I really liked it (you can check him out here) Then we walked the strip to check out more hotels. We also went back to M&M world and watched a 3D M&M movie called “I Lost My M In Las Vegas” it was cute. For dinner we went to the China Star Buffet. It was soooooo good!!!! It was the BEST Chinese buffet I have ever had!! After dinner we did more walked. A guy stopped us and asked us if we wanted two free show tickets. We said “we are not told enough” he replied “do you want to get married?” when I told him we already were he said “really? You guys are like 13! How old are you two??” We smiled and told him we were 23 and walked away laughing. Shortly after that we jumped on the bus and went to the Stratosphere. We took the elevator up and HOLY COW it went FAST!! We walked around and watched some people ride the rides. They are scary looking!!!! We started getting tired so we went back to our hotel and went to bed!

Friday was the day to check out of our hotel. We woke up around 8 and went down to the breakfast buffet at our hotel. Then went back to our room and I fell asleep while Elliot watched TV. At 11:30 we checked out and went to Circus Circus. We got a full day pass and they had lockers so we put our backpacks in a locker and went and rode rides. We then went and watched a circus act that was AWESOME!!! It was African Acrobatics!!! We decided we needed a break from the circus so we went to Slots of Fun! This was my FAVORITE casino because you could use coins!!! We had lots of fun there. After Slots of Fun we went and had lunch then back to Circus Circus to ride more rides. We spent the rest of the day going from Circus Circus to Slots of Fun and back again. By around five we started getting hungry again and we had a coupon for a buffet (I don’t remember what it was called…but) we went to it and it was closed. So, we decided to go to the Emperors Buffet at the Imperial Palace because we had a 2 for 1 there. On our way over we saw some guys playing Texas Hold’em. I wanted to watch, so we stopped at watched them for over an hour. It was so much fun. We started getting even hungrier so we headed to the Imperial Palace. Well….when we got there we realized it was Chinese…we had Chinese the night before and neither of us were feeling that great, so we decided to go somewhere else. We went to a super yummy pizza place (I don’t remember the name…but it was GOOD). After dinner went back to Circus Circus to see another act. We got there and sat down, we were there about 5 minutes when someone came out and said it was cancelled due to technical difficulties. So, we went and rode the roller coaster one more time, got our back packs out of the locker and headed back to see another show, but we were to slow and it was over before we go there. We walked the strip for a while, walked through a few more casino/hotels and then decided we were tired so it was time to head to the airport. We got on the Duce and rode to the south changed station then got on the bus that would take us to the airport.

We got to the airport about 2:15am (Saturday morning), walked down to the ticket counter, no one was there, so we went to some benches put our stuff down and laid down on the floor and fell asleep. We slept off and on from about 2:30 to 5:30. When we totally woke up we were hungry so we went and got back on the bus and headed to the strip for breakfast…IHOP. After we ate we jumped back on the bus to the airport. Every time I would sit down I would fall asleep so it was good Elliot was there…or I would have missed my stops! OOPS! When we got back to the airport we went asked if there were any flights before 6pm to SLC…and of course there weren’t so….we got our boarding pass and went to the gate. We were there not long when we both decided it was nap time. So we lied down on the floor and fell asleep. We spend about ten hours straight in the airport, we sate slept and watched a football game. I was having fun because I LOVE the airport (I know I'm crazy), but Elliot didn’t like it much. We were both VERY happy to get on the plain home. I LOVE flying plus there was a show on TV about jails…so I was in 7th heaven. When we landed my mom and dad picked us up, and we headed home!!!! We had LOTS of fun…but were very excited to be home and to sleep in our own bed!
