30-30

I have not been blogging lately. I think it is because I’m now a little lazy now that I have an Aldo in me (I say that as if I blogged a lot before). I wish I could say it is because I don’t have the time, however most days I am in bed by 8:00pm so really, I think that means I have more time than most (I can thank my AMAZING husband for this). I also feel like I don’t have that much to blog about. Nothing too exciting is happening, and when it does I forget to blog about it. For example the other day (a week ago yesterday) I was installing an alarm system in my house and I turn it up REALLY loud to make sure I would be able to hear it from the living room (my house isn’t that big, I’m not sure what I was thinking). Well, I opened the front door and the panel said “Beep, Beep, Front door” and I have NEVER been kicked so hard in my LIFE! It scared Aldo to death! I laughed pretty hard, then apologized and went and turned it down. Poor boy, he isn’t even born yet and I am torturing him. Anyway, this was a LONG way to say, I am going to copy cat my favorite sister in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD‼‼! I am going to try this… wish me luck!

REAL Salt Lake

So, it is soccer time again. Soccer is a sport I will watch, and we spend money on. Well, a few weeks ago I got an email telling me there was a Real Salt Lake coupon for 2 side line tickets, a parking pass, 2 beanies, and 2 free hot chocolate all for $60. I thought...why not? Its the first game of the season AND it will be a GREAT game because it is quarter finals for Concacaf playoffs.

The game was AWESOME!!! They played The Columbus Crew, and won 4-1!!!!!!!!

My Genius Idea!

For Christmas I got Elliot and Xbox, and for Valentine ’s Day (I know it hasn’t happened yet…it was an early Valentine’s day present)I (meaning he bought it for himself and I decided I would call it his Valentine’s day present from me) got him Xbox live. Well, last night he said something about wanting Netflix, so I jumped on line, looked it up, and signed us up for a free month. We got it all set up so we could watch Netflix through the Xbox and watched a documentary called “Everybody Loves…Babies”. It was cute; it shows the early development of four babies from different parts of the world. There is once baby who is part of a tribe in Namibia who don’t wear cloths, so that was a little weird, but all in all I liked it. Anyway…after we watched that we watched a documentary about Cocaine which I fell asleep watching. The next thing I remember is Elliot turning off the TV, I asked him what time it was to which he replied, it’s around 5:00 am and I’m not tired. I rolled over and fell back asleep, and around 7:00 Elliot woke me up and said that he had moved all our clean clothes off our bed and we could now sleep in our bed. It is now 2 in the afternoon and Elliot is still asleep in bed.

Well, now for the whole reason of this blog. I got up a few hours ago really hungry so I made me some waffles and decided to watch another documentary, I’m not sure if it was the best decision I have ever made but I watched one about Disneyland. Now, I really really really want to go!!!! Wanting to go is not a new thing. I have been asking Elliot if we can go to Disneyland for three years now (we haven’t even been married three years) and he always just blows me off, because he went with his family as a teenager and didn’t like one minute of it (or so he says). Then to add to that, we bought a new house 7 months ago, I got a new car for my birthday 4 months ago, and our life style is getting more expensive by the week. What does this all mean?? I don’t know if there is going to be anyway I will ever be able to convince Elliot that Disneyland is really the Happiest Place on EARTH! I have tried everything I can think of to ‘help’ him want to go. Nothing has worked. However, as I lay on my couch, not feeling too great, thinking about how I can get Elliot to say yes to Disneyland I had an idea. I am going to stop trying to get him to say yes and try a different direction.

On the Disneyland documentary it talked about the “Indiana Jones” ride. Rewind to 1995, last time I went to Disneyland, the Indiana Jones ride was the newest ride in the park. We were so excited to ride it, when we realized Alec was too short. So mom took him to ride other rides while Haley, Dad and I rode Indiana Jones. Now, fast-forward to today, I may be a bit emotional right now, and miss my little brother, but when they started talking about that ride it made me sad. I thought, I don’t want to go back to Disneyland unless Alec can come with me, I HAVE to ride that ride with him, it wouldn’t be fair of me to go back and ride it again without him.

So, to my different direction idea…I am going to talk to my parents about planning a family, like the whole family, Mom, Dad, Elliot, Me, Haley, Gray and Alec, trip to Disneyland. GENIUS yeah?!?! Elliot can’t say no to a whole family trip; and if he does he can stay home and take care of our turtle while I go have fun. (That is supposed to be funny). So, now my plan is to talk to my parents and Haley and Gray, crunch some numbers, and figure out how much we need to start saving every month to go to the happiest place on earth, I’m thinking next January!

Wish me luck!

Why I love Discount Tire

On September 21, 2010 (yeah it was a while ago) Elliot and I were driving North on I-15 in Lindon, when Elliot noticed the car started ridding weird. So he moved over to the right lane, and slowed down. We had to stay in that lane driving for about a 1/4 of a mile because there was construction and no shoulder.

(The car started ridding weird at the Red dot, and we were able to pull over at the Green dot.)

Once we finally pulled over Elliot got out of the car and saw what he was thinking was right. We had a flat tire So, like a good husband, he changed the flat, and like a good wife, I took pictures. At the timethis was our only car so we HAD to get the doughnut off ASAP and get the tire back on. So, after we were done, about 6:05pm I called Discount Tire.

Discount closed at 6:00pm; however, they said they would stay open for us! When we got to Discount, at 6:15, they took our car right back and looked at our flat. They then came and told us, the tire is not fixable because it was totally destroyed from driving on it. And on top of that, we didn’t get insurance on the tires, which we had bought 2 months before, so we were going to have to buy a new tire costing us almost $80.

I took a deep breath, probably rolled my eyes, and told Elliot, well, we have to do what we have to do. So, Elliot went to tell the guy working that it looks like we are buying a new tire. To which he replied, “Well, what I can do is add insurance to your tires, which will be about $50, and back date it, so you won’t have to buy a new tire” saving us about $30. That sounded better to me, so I told Elliot let’s do it!

Then the guy working on the tire came in and said he pulled out the valve that you use to put air in your tire with his hand. (THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE POSSIBLE) So, the guy that was ringing us up went out and looked at it, then came back in and asked “you got these tires two months ago? This is this is NEVER supposed to happen. I don’t know if the guys at the Orem Discount don’t know what they are doing or what happened so this is what we can do. We will give you a new tire for NO CHARGE and you don’t have to get insurance on your tires if you don’t want to. BUT if you want to get insurance on your tires we will drop the price to $35 to insure ALL FOUR tires.” It totally made my day We ended up walking out of there, at about 6:30, with a brand new tire, insurance on all 4 tires for about $40 with tax.

WOW, huh?!?!? Understand now??? I sure hope so!‼
